AP Calculus BC builds upon all the concepts taught in Calculus AB and extends them into more advanced topics. In addition to limits, derivatives, and integrals, students explore deeper mathematical ideas and more complex applications of calculus.
The course introduces additional topics such as parametric equations, polar functions, vector-valued functions, and infinite series including Taylor and Maclaurin series. These concepts allow students to model and analyze more complex mathematical relationships.
AP Calculus BC is equivalent to a full year of university-level calculus. It provides a deeper understanding of calculus and prepares students for advanced studies in mathematics, engineering, physics, economics, and other quantitative fields.
